MÁLAGA
Málaga er med sine over 600.000 indbyggere, hovedstaden på Costa del Sol. Den har en lang historisk arv, der er synlig mange steder i byens centrum. Málaga er en af Spaniens mest besøgte byer, især på grund af dens klima med gennemsnitligt 300 dages solskin. Málaga har Spaniens næststørste havn og en nye internationale lufthavn, som er landets tredjestørste. TORREMOLINOS
TORREMOLINOS var den første feriedestination på Costa del Sol som begyndte at se turister i 50’erne. I de dage samlede de rige og berømte sig omkring svømmebassinerne ved luksushotellerne rundt omkring i La Carihuela, med dens charmerende strandbarer og chiringuitos. I dag er Torremolinos vokset til en by med over 50.000 beboere og med masser at byde på. Man kan slikke sol på den 7 km lange strand, spise en billig middag i byens centrum kort fra hovedgaden, der hedder San Miguel, nyde lækre tapas eller stegt fisk i La Carihuela eller langs stranden i Bajondillo, Playamar og Los Alamos. Om sommeren er Torremolinos et af de hotteste steder for de unge, der vil ud på de mange diskoteker og natklubber.
BENALMÁDENA
BENALMÁDENA er geografisk opdelt mellem Arroyo de la Miel (bymidten), Benalmádena Costa (kysten) og Benalmádena Pueblo (landsbyen). Benalmádena Costa (kyst) er mest berømt for dens Puerto Marina, en marina med over 1000 bådpladser og boliger bygget på øer i selve havnen. På hver side af marinaen er der i alt 8 km af sandstrande med Blå Flag med en smuk allé, der fører til Torremolinos på den ene side og det femstjernede Torrequebrada kasino/hotel på den anden. Der er også masser at lave for familier med børn. Du kan besøge forlystelsesparken ‘Tivoliverden’ eller tage kabelvognen til toppen af bjerget, hvor du vil have de mest bemærkelsesværdige udsigter over kysten. Andre steder, du ikke må gå glip af er Sea Life og Paloma Park.

FUENGIROLA
Fuengirola is one of the largest tourist destinations on the Costa del Sol, with over 60,000 residents. This number nearly triples in July and August. Fuengirola is located just 25 km from the capital, Málaga, and serves as the final stop for tourists arriving by train, which connects all the towns between Málaga and Fuengirola. One of the liveliest places in Fuengirola is the old town center with the square ‘Plaza de Constitución,’ where you'll find plenty of shops as well as Spanish and international restaurants. From here, you can walk down to the beach and along the promenade to Fuengirola marina. When visiting Fuengirola, be sure to check out the street market, which is open on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Also, see if there is an event or concert taking place when you visit the old castle, ‘Castillo Sohail.’
MIJAS COSTA
Mijas Costa belongs to the municipality of Mijas, which is the largest municipality on the Costa del Sol. It stretches from the idyllic mountain village of Mijas Pueblo down to Calahonda, featuring 12 km of coastline. Mijas Costa is very popular among foreigners moving to the Costa del Sol. Mijas Pueblo, also known as "The White Village," is perched high on the mountainside with views over the coast and is the most well-known village in the area. Thousands of tourists visit the village each week to stroll through its historic centre or take a ride on the famous "donkey taxi." This is also the ideal place to buy your souvenirs. Mijas Costa offers many different activities, including 8 championship golf courses, various riding schools, several tennis clubs, and plenty of water sports facilities in the area known as La Cala de Mijas.
MARBELLA
Marbella is the hot spot and most famous city and area of the Costa del Sol and is the answer to the glamorous resort cities of Saint-Tropez in France and Miami in Florida. It is a preferred holiday destination for the rich and famous when they visit Spain. Over the past decades, Marbella has transformed from a fishing village into a cosmopolitan city. Currently, more than 135,000 people reside in Marbella. There is no better place on the Costa del Sol for gastronomy, parties, and vibrant colours than Marbella. The city centre boasts hundreds of world-class restaurants around the large square ‘Plaza Los Naranjos’ and the small streets nearby, along the beach, and of course in the luxury marina Puerto Banús. Marbella is also the ideal place for shopaholics! Whether you're looking to buy new clothes from designer stores or the department store El Corte Inglés, or if you're on the hunt for art or jewelry, Marbella is the place for you!
BENAHAVIS
Benahavis is the wealthiest municipality on the Costa del Sol and boasts having the best public school on the coast. The village itself is a picturesque, whitewashed mountain village overlooking the Guadalmina River. Along its narrow cobblestone streets, which remain as the old Moors laid them, are beautiful houses, shops, and an incredible selection of restaurants. Among locals, it is known as the ‘Rincón de la Gastronomía’ or the ‘gastronomic corner’ of the Costa del Sol. Benahavis is in many ways one of Andalusia's best-kept secrets. It is located just 7 km inland from the coastal road, right west of San Pedro de Alcántara and only a few minutes from Marbella and Puerto Banús. For golfers, Benahavis offers a vast array of golf courses within a short distance.
ESTEPONA
Estepona is the largest town west of Marbella. It stretches over 22 km of coastline and has around 60,000 residents. The 'New Golden Mile' is one of the most exclusive areas west of Estepona, featuring luxury properties on both sides of the motorway and several five-star hotels, such as the Ritz Carlton and Kempinski.
SOTOGRANDE
Sotogrande is undoubtedly Costa del Sol's best-kept secret. It has a lovely marina with plenty of restaurants and bars exuding a maritime atmosphere. Sotogrande is also known for hosting the Ryder Cup and is home to some of the most prestigious golf courses on the Costa del Sol, such as San Roque and Valderrama, which is famous for hosting the Ryder Cup. The Santa Maria Polo Club, with its 9 fields and over 200 stables, is also one of the attractions in Sotogrande.
